- Types of joints to use
Students will self-evaluate & critique their own and others work.
Nurture
Students have the opportunity to make their own choices when designing and making projects, reflecting their interests and personality.
Students will develop confidence in safety considerations required when in the workshop environment and understanding COSHH procedures when working with paints and solvents. They will gain knowledge through a combination of practical and theory sessions.
Inspire
For many students being in the workshop takes them out of their comfort zones and gets them to learn new skills, alongside learning about themselves and what they enjoy in life by being able to make informed choices relating to their own project(s). Students are very often amazed by the end product, as the realisation they have made something that exceeds their own expectations.
Empower
Students have opportunities to use materials and equipment that they may not have at home, developing useful knowledge and practical skills for independent adult living. Students have the ability to gain qualifications that can further their learning by allowing them access to college courses and other post 16 pathways.
