Our school community has a duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of children who are our pupils
Keeping our pupils safe is the most important part of our job. We have a highly-trained staff team, who understand the safeguarding risks that our young people face. We are aware that some young people make choices that put them at risk, and we work proactively with our students, their families and other agencies to help them avoid putting themselves into unsafe situations. Details of the safeguarding team can be found in the Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy
We take safeguarding very seriously, and ensure that all relevant school policies are reviewed by the Directors’ Board on an annual basis. All our staff are DBS checked, and two references are requested on appointment to a role. We also ensure that Directors and SLT staff who are involved in the recruitment process are kept up to date with 'Safer Recruitment Training'. We report on all aspects of safeguarding to Directors on a termly basis.
If you have a concern related to safeguarding, please contact our safeguarding team

Sometimes we may need to share information, and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a child’s welfare.
We are part of Operation Encompass – Operation Encompass is the reporting to schools, prior to the start of the next school day, when a child or young person has been exposed to, or involved in, any domestic incident.
OFSTED September 2022:
The arrangements for safeguarding are effective. Leaders have planned a curriculum that prioritises teaching pupils about the risks they face and how to keep themselves safe. There is significant emphasis on online safety as many pupils enjoy gaming. Staff receive regular training. Staff are quick to spot when there may be a problem, and they work with other agencies to ensure families receive the support they need
