What’s your typical working day like?

I work mainly offsite, working on Thrive, outdoor learning or independent skills with a small amount of Maths and English incorporated.

What’s your favourite thing about working at On Track?

The humans - the staff and pupils. 

How would you describe the team culture?

Supportive and fun. Most staff look for ways to help others.

Has there been a moment where you stopped and thought - this is why I’m here?

Yes. When I was listing all of the students' life skills they had been working on, I realised the monumental progress that they had made in a year.

What impact do you feel you’ve made on the young people you work with?

I've helped to create a safe space for pupils where they know they are heard and have their needs prioritised, in order for them to be able to try more challenging things.

What’s the most rewarding part of your role?

Seeing students' continued growth in so many different but vital areas.

What’s your superpower?

Empathy and understanding. 

How has On Track supported your professional development?

On track has supported and encouraged me to be able to do my own research, which is the most beneficial to my professional development in regards to my students' needs. 

What advice would you give to someone considering applying?

Do it! On Track has a supportive culture whereby life experience, positivity and being able to rise to a challenge are all you need.

The staff are approachable and supportive at all levels of management.
