First Ever On Track Education Christmas Show Celebrates Student Talent and Community Spirit

18 Dec

On Track Wisbech proudly hosted its first ever Christmas Show this week at the Queen Mary Centre, Wisbech, bringing together students, families, staff and members of the local community for a truly memorable festive celebration.

Held in the venue’s performance hall, the event showcased the incredible creativity and confidence of On Track students, with a programme that included solo Christmas songs, poetry readings and dance performances. The hall was filled with proud parents, carers, staff and guests, creating a warm and supportive atmosphere as students took to the stage.

During the interval, guests were invited to explore a range of activities, including a display of student artwork, a Thrive stall focused on gratitude and reflection, a photo booth for festive selfies, and an extensive cake stall. The raffle proved particularly popular and raised a staggering amount of money, thanks to the generosity of local businesses and supporters.

The event also highlighted On Track Education’s commitment to giving back, with donated hampers presented to a local mother and baby charity, made possible through contributions from the school community. A special thank you goes to the Mayor of Wisbech, who attended the event and showed support for the students and school.

Diane Woodward, School Manager, described the show as “the most memorable event the school has experienced, with the focus 100% on the students.”

"Seeing the hall packed with supporters and witnessing the pride and emotion from families and staff made the occasion even more poignant," she added.

Claire Simper, one of the show organisers, praised the dedication behind the scenes:

“We would like to thank our amazing staff and students for their hard work and commitment in making the Christmas Show possible. The effort, teamwork and pride shown by everyone involved was incredible.”

The school also expressed heartfelt thanks to local organisations who continue to support students through life-skills learning and enrichment, including Tesco, Gorefield Alpaca Farm, and Leverington Sports and Social Club. Additional thanks were extended to the many local businesses that donated prizes for the raffle, as well as Gary and Jamie Dorman, who provided Christmas gifts for every student through the Fendig Toy Appeal.

The evening concluded with glowing feedback for the students, emotional moments of pride throughout the audience, and a shared sense that something very special had been created. The whole event was spectacular, and we can't wait for the next one.
