World Book Day Celebrations at On Track Wisbech

06 Mar

Students and staff at On Track Education Wisbech enjoyed a fantastic World Book Day celebration this year, with the school welcoming a host of well-known literary characters.

The day saw a colourful mix of costumes throughout the building, with appearances from beloved favourites including The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Mary Poppins, Willy Wonka, Harry Potter, Pennywise, and Belle. Students also joined in the fun, dressing up and bringing their favourite stories to life.

One of the highlights of the day was the school’s Book Café, which was a big hit with students. The relaxed space allowed pupils to unwind, enjoy snacks, and read a range of books in a comfortable, welcoming environment.

Sarah Chambers, English Teacher at On Track Wisbech, said: "World Book Day is always a wonderful opportunity to celebrate reading creatively. It was fantastic to see so many students get involved, dress up as their favourite characters, and enjoy time in the Book Café. Events like this help remind everyone that reading can be both fun and inspiring."

The day was filled with creativity, imagination and a shared love of books — a perfect way to celebrate the magic of reading together as a school community.
