On Track Wisbech celebrates double award success

04 Sep

On Track Education Wisbech is celebrating a fantastic start to the new academic year after receiving two awards recognising its commitment to student wellbeing and creating a positive, responsible school community.

The school has successfully achieved the Healthy Schools Award, recognising its strong commitment to promoting the health, wellbeing and resilience of its students.

Assessors praised Wisbech's highly personalised approach, highlighting therapeutic practice, strong relationships and preparation for adulthood as key strengths. Students benefit from Thrive practice, key worker support and personalised wellbeing interventions, helping them to develop confidence, emotional regulation and positive relationships.

The report also detailed the school's work to prepare young people for life beyond the classroom. Through the HERA programme, travel training, enterprise activities and community experiences, students develop practical skills, resilience and greater independence.

Healthy lifestyles are supported through activities including family-style dining, food education and gardening, while volunteering and community projects give students opportunities to develop confidence, responsibility and a sense of belonging.

Deputy Manager, Gemma Adams, said:

“We are incredibly proud to have achieved both of these awards. They recognise the hard work of our students and staff and reflect our commitment to supporting young people to become confident, independent and responsible members of their community.

“The Healthy Schools feedback is particularly rewarding because it recognises the dedication of our staff and the positive impact of the support we provide every day. To also achieve the Eco-Schools Green Flag with Distinction makes this an especially exciting time for our whole school community.”

On Track Wisbech has also achieved the Eco-Schools Green Flag Award with Distinction, recognising the school's ongoing commitment to environmental action and sustainability.
