On Track Wisbech goes the distance for Great Ormond Street Hospital

This week, pupils and staff from On Track Education Wisbech took part in the RBC Race for the Kids, raising money for Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity (GOSH) and its mission to help build a new Children’s Cancer Centre.

The event took place on 7 October at Ferry Meadows, and it was a huge success, with every child who took part completing the full distance and enjoying every step of the day.

Two pupils, Kody and Kory, ran the entire 5K course, cheered on and supported by staff member Chelsea, who was by their side throughout the race.

After the race, everyone came together for a wellbeing picnic and some relaxed exploration time in the park - a perfect way to celebrate the students’ achievement.

Beyond raising money for an incredible cause, the event also gave students and staff a valuable opportunity to connect, unwind, and strengthen positive relationships outside the classroom.

Diane Woodward, School Manager for On Track Wisbech, said:

“We’re so proud of all our students for their enthusiasm and determination. Race for the Kids was a brilliant way for our school to come together, stay active, and support a charity that changes lives every day. It was a fantastic day all around, and we want to thank everyone involved in making it such a memorable and meaningful event."
