On Track Westbury is delighted to introduce an exciting new addition to the school, a dedicated sensory room, thoughtfully designed and created by Emily, our SEMH Specialist.
This carefully planned space has been developed to support students with emotional regulation, sensory needs and self-calming strategies. Designed as a safe, low-stimulus environment, the room provides pupils with the opportunity to pause, reflect and regulate their emotions when they need it most.
The sensory room offers a calm and supportive setting where students can reduce anxiety, develop coping strategies and build confidence in managing their feelings. By providing access to this space, we are further strengthening our commitment to meeting individual needs and promoting positive well-being across the school.
Importantly, the impact extends beyond the room itself. When students feel emotionally regulated and supported, they are better able to return to their learning feeling calmer, more focused and ready to engage positively with their day.
Rachel Edwards, Head Teacher at On Track Westbury, said: “We are incredibly proud to introduce our new sensory room. Supporting our students’ emotional well-being is fundamental to everything we do, and this space provides a safe and nurturing environment where young people can regulate, reset and feel understood. When our students feel calm and supported, they are in a much stronger position to succeed in their learning and beyond.”
This development reflects our ongoing commitment to creating an inclusive environment where every young person feels safe, understood and able to succeed.
